Interested in writing for Thinking Abyss? Start from here!
First Steps
1) As you can see from the title, in order to become a member you need to fill in the application form
(Sign Up) and when you’re accepted, you will officially be a member of our community. Warning: A
valid member’s application requires the acceptance of Thinking Abyss’ terms and conditions. Members
that fail to accept these terms won’t be eligible. Don’t worry, we’re not asking for much. If we could sum
up these terms in one word, that would be “Respect” to others and ourselves.
2) When you get notified that you’re accepted, just verify your email and you will immediately have
access to our whole website’s content.
3) Edit your profile: choose a profile picture and write a bio.
4) Browse topics, find people you know or that you have similar interests with. Feel free to like and
comment on any post and follow anyone whose work you appreciate.
5) Think about whether you’d like to just read or write as well. If you decide to become a writer, don’t
forget that you aren’t obliged to write anything and there are no deadlines. Stress and compulsion are
enemies of our community, so everything you read on our website comes from the need for expression
and experimenting or the author’s desire for dialogue.
You have little to none experience with writing but you want to experiment? You’re in the right place.
Have a look at the “Experts’ Advice” below, where you can find theoretical step-to-step advice on how to
write successfully your first article on Thinking Abyss. Obviously, even experienced authors may find
these guides useful.
You can update your profile into a Writer anytime, so if you’re not sure yet, there’s nothing to worry
about. You can still be a very active member of the community by expressing your thoughts in the
comment section of each post. Read the “Deontology Feedback” below, which will guide you in order to
produce effective dialogue and substantial evolution of the spirit. Remember that no matter how upsetting
an opinion is, there’s always a way to answer respectfully.
6) If you decide to write on Thinking Abyss contact us through one of the three ways mentioned in our
“Contact” page (sending an email is preferred) and tell us about your interests, the topics you’d like to
write about and the reason that led you here. Don’t worry, it’s not a test and we aren’t going to evaluate
you. We just want to get to know our members better and ensure that they share a passion for learning,
expressing themselves and discussing respectfully as always.
7) Between 1-7 days you will receive an email from our team that invites you to collaborate with us. By
accepting the invitation, you become a “Guest Writer” and you’re able to write on our platform using the
various tools our writer program provides. While the texts are still drafts, only you and the admin of the
community will have access to them and you can be edited anytime and anywhere.
8) After finishing your project, you can upload it by pressing the “submit” button and then waiting for
approval. We don’t want to be seen as a “Big Brother”, as we just want to make sure that all the articles
align with our Terms and Conditions. Your project is probably going to be on your profile within the next
3 days and a post regarding what you’ve written will also be posted on our official Instagram page. In
case any problem arises, we will immediately inform you and explain what happened and how we can
solve it.
9) Tell your friends and people you know about Thinking Abyss and invite them to become members!
Terms and Conditions
As mentioned before, Thinking Abyss is a collective platform , a community that provides a safe space
for people to get in touch with new ideas, perspectives, opinions and interesting stories. People that want
to read, write and discuss with the ultimate goal of diving deeper into the world of speech and thought. In
order to maintain this safety for every single one of our members, we have created the following terms.
Each term and condition must be obeyed in every post of the website, whether it’s a text, comment,
interaction with our team, profile or bio. To ensure they are complied with, we have created both
preventive and restrictive measures. Analytically, as mentioned in the “first steps” section, each member
must receive an invitation after contacting us in order to become a writer. Moreover, even as a “Guest
Writer”, each project must be approved by our team, who makes sure that it aligns with the following
terms, in order to be published. In case any person, member or not, believes that any of the following
terms has been violated against them or somebody else, they are highly encouraged to contact us so we
can tackle the issue as soon as possible. A member that violates our terms can be deleted.
